Physical Therapy Assistant

I am so thankful, first of all to God for giving me the opportunity to be able to qualify for Project ARRIBA, my case manager Estela who has helped me not just with the financial portion of my education, but also the emotional support where my head was all over the place because of the demand of exams & schoolwork and study time. Thank you to the Project ARRIBA staff for being so supportive not just with myself but with all participants and give all of us the opportunity to continue our education. To all the funders that support Project ARRIBA I thank you as well because you have impacted my life/career for years to come and have changed my life. I know my mom would be proud of me for pursuing my hopes and dreams because as my mother she would only want the best for me. Thank you once again to everyone who has made this possible for me.

Registered Nurse, BSN

It was not an easy road, and my family and I have sacrificed a lot to be here today.  Without the help and assistance from Project ARRIBA, this accomplishment would not be possible. Thank you, Project ARRIBA, for all you do!

The initial blessing came in Project ARRIBA accepting my application and taking the time to sit and discuss with me what the program entailed and offered.  Ms. Herminia (Mimi) Duran had the utmost of patience and compassion in explaining everything to me in the manner I needed to hear and understand.  I still knew of the sacrifice and hardships to come, yet, thanks to Project ARRIBA, it was a huge relief to know supplies, books and tuition assistance was to come.  I was overwhelmed with an abundance of gratitude.

Margaret Waithera
Registered Nurse

The journey to obtaining my degree has not been easy, but my case manager Priscilla has been very helpful checking on me frequently, calling and texting me to inquire how I was doing. She also made sure that I got my supply kit and books on time. She has been a crying shoulder to me and continuously encouraged me to keep going. I wouldn’t have made it without you, Priscilla.

Through Project ARRIBA’s assistance, I have been able to realize my dream of becoming a registered nurse. With this achievement, I will be able to better my family’s life. It is also my desire to give back to the community and help other students in need of financial assistance to realize their dream careers and help develop the city of El Paso.
